LAST NITE
Jennifer Elster stars in Last Nite, a film set inside The Development Gallery on its final night in its historic double-wide cast-iron space, just before the gallery moves to an undisclosed location. Alone among the remnants of five years of exhibitions, encounters, and creative life, Elster moves through the space, interacting with the relics that remain. Objects become traces of memory; the gallery itself becomes a kind of archive. As she wanders through what is left behind, she reflects on the years spent inhabiting the space and on the lives, ideas, and experiences that passed through it.
Last Nite is a meditation on place, memory, impermanence. A portrait of a space in transition, and of the artist who occupied it for five years.
